Dentures are apparatus that are prepared with various techniques and applications, in order to satisfy the aesthetic and functional need of a person, resulting from the loss of teeth or aesthetic deficiencies.
Types of Dentures:
- Fixed Dentures ( crown-bridge like, adhered, aesthetic dentures )
- Mobile Dentures ( that can be taken off and put on)
- Over implant Dentures ( fixed or mobile )
Types of Fixed Dentures:
- Single crowns ( coating of a single tooth)
- Bridges ( covering the missing teeth together with the adjacent teeth)
- Over implant dentures ( a screw placed in the jaw + dentures )
Mobile Dentures ;
- Total dentures ( palates applied to totally toothless mouths )
- Partial dentures (hooked, metal reinforced palates or palates without metal, which are applied to partially toothless mouths)
- Dentures with Sensitive holders (palates without metal and without hooks, which are applied to partially toothless mouths)
The results of not overcoming teeth deficiencies:
- Aesthetic deficiencies
- Eating difficulties
- Talking disorders ( mispronouncing the letters )
- Psychological problems ( shyness, loss of self- confidence, efforts of trying not to laugh, unhappiness )
- Increase in the impairment of mouth health ( displacement, abrasion, decaying and loosening of the teeth)
- pain in the jaw joint ( T.M.E. ) vocal and movement deficiency
- General health problems ( gastroenthrological diseases and nutrition disorder resulting from the insufficient grinding function of the food)
